Share fantastic nature facts

The Climate Action Countdown June 7 – July 5. For more fantastic ideas about how to get involved, download our activity packs here!

Today’s challenge will help you share fantastic nature facts to amaze, astonish and grow a love of nature!

Take a look at our fact bank

Share these in a creative way

Here are some suggestions!

Make a fact jar. Write different facts on small pieces of paper, fold them up and put them into a jar. You can pull a fact out of the jar each day to share with your friends, family or class at school. You could even add enough facts to last a month!

Make a chatterbox. Use the template below to make your own origami chatterbox and fill it with tree and nature facts. This is a fun way to share fascinating facts!

Make a quiz! There’s nothing better than a bit of friendly competition to make fact sharing really interesting. You can make your own multiple choice quiz using our fact bank or facts from the internet. Alternatively, you can learn some fascinating facts and test your tree knowledge with the Tree Councils unbe-leaf-able tree quiz.

Get creative and compose a song or poem based on your tree facts. Share your new knowledge in a creative way to catch people’s attention. Your passion and energy is likely to inspire others!

Instructions:

Print out and fold the chatterbox template below. If you don’t have

Fill out the blank triangles with more interesting tree and nature facts.

Use the chatterbox with your classmates and family.

Did you know?

Trees are amazing. They can make us feel calmer and happier – but that’s not all!  Did you know that a tree in a city can cool the air around it by up to 12C? Or that they reduce flooding, as up to 30% of the rain that falls on a tree evaporates back into the atmosphere without ever hitting the ground?
