Climate Action Countdown: Thursday 4 July – Write your Manifesto

The Climate Action Countdown June 7 – July 5. For more fantastic ideas about how to get involved, download our activity packs here!

Do you know what a manifesto is?

Definition: A manifesto is a statement from a person or group of people, especially a political party, or a government, in which you say what you hope to do and what you are passionate about.

Write a manifesto

This Climate Action Countdown challenge is to write your manifesto!

What to write:

Now dream up your perfect school. If you don’t go to school, think about your homeschooling environment or community. What does it look like? How can it help the planet?

Think about:

What you eat there?

How you get your energy?

How you get rid of waste?

Who is in charge?

What you will learn and do?

What does the outside space look like?

Print our manifesto sheet:

Print off the manifesto sheet from our resources page here and ask design the green school, community or homeschooling space of your dreams.

Pin it up on your wall:

Pin this up on your wall, and get feedback from friends or family on what they think. Are there bits they love or bits they disagree with? Ask them why and explore your ideas and what you might need to change.

Why are manifestos important?

With today being election day, you will have heard a lot about manifestos. Why are they important? It means we can understand what someone says they are going to do, and then make sure they follow through on their promises later.
