WRAP to join Let’s Go Zero campaign

We are excited that WRAP will be joining the Let’s Go Zero 2030 Campaign. Joining a coalition of sustainable organisations with a strong track record of supporting schools and young people to take action on climate. The coalition includes Ashden, Eco-Schools, Carbon Trust, Fairtrade, Global Action Plan, Soil Association, Sustrans, The Tree Council and WWF.

WRAP is a climate action NGO working in 40 countries to give the planet a sustainable future. WRAP works with citizens, governments and businesses to end waste in food, textiles and plastics and promote the circular economy. It runs campaigns such as Recycle Now and Love Food Hate Waste to help make recycling the norm and keep food out of the bin, with The Action Pack programme for schools. WRAP also runs the Guardians of Grub campaign which aims to reduce the 1.1 million tonnes of food thrown away by the Hospitality and Food Service industry every year.

WRAP and Let’s Go Zero are united in their belief that schools can play a vital role in educating future generations and wider society to make sustainable and healthy choices. Schools are key sites for climate action; with 42% of all UK households having children of school age, schools have enormous reach and can spread awareness and behaviour change throughout their communities.

The Let’s Go Zero team at Ashden are excited to be working closely with WRAP on this campaign, supporting schools on their zero carbon journey while reducing waste going to landfill and encouraging schools to become part of the circular economy.
