Save cash with a splash! Water-saving tips from Let’s Go Zero and Waterwise

Wednesday 6 May 2026
3:45 PM – 4:45 PM

In this webinar, led by Let’s Go Zero, we will discuss where water inefficiencies can be found in a typical school and what you can do to address them. You will also hear from Waterwise, who offer Water Literacy training as well as educational resources and ways of raising awareness about water conservation with students and staff.

Despite its reputation as a wet country, the UK is predicted to face a shortfall of 5 billion liters a day by 2050 with rising demand and current infrastructure. Water bills have increased by 26% on average in 2025 with further rises to come. Reducing water consumption at home and in schools is set to become even more important for environmental and financial reasons.

Our school is cool! Practical solutions to prevent overheating

Tuesday 19 May 2026
3:45 PM – 4:45 PM
At Let’s Go Zero, one thing is clear from talking to schools: overheating in summer is becoming a real challenge. You’ve no doubt felt the impact of recent heatwaves – and how difficult it can be to teach, learn and stay comfortable when classrooms are too hot.

Many schools in the UK simply weren’t built for the temperatures we now face more regularly, putting pressure on student concentration, staff wellbeing and even health and safety. Some projections suggest up to 8 teaching days could be lost each year by 2050 if changes are not made.

In this webinar, we’ll explore practical solutions (including quick, low-cost actions) to help keep your school cool. You’ll also hear expert insights on climate risks and case studies from schools already making a difference.

The session also includes interactive breakout discussions, giving you the chance to reflect on your own school’s challenges and identify solutions that could work best for your setting.

This webinar is ideal for school leaders, estates teams, and anyone interested in creating safe, comfortable, and resilient learning environments.

Buying Better: How School Procurement Can Cut Carbon Without Costing the Earth

Thursday 9 July 2026
3:45 PM – 4:45 PM
Did you know that purchasing accounts for 16% of a school’s carbon footprint on average? This is roughly the same impact as food and overall fuel use. But most schools are unsure where to start when it comes to reducing emissions in this area

This webinar will introduce some simple actions and key areas to investigate.

  • How to ensure your tendering process and contracts incorporate sustainability without sacrificing value for money
  • Assessing the carbon impact and ethical credentials of the equipment and services you are buying
  • Case studies from St Barts MAT

This will be of particular interest to business/finance managers, MAT Procurement and Operations managers, but should also be useful to sustainability leads hoping to open this conversation with other staff.

There will be time for you to ask the team questions in breakout rooms, so please register to attend.

Ready to reduce waste and costs? From classrooms to canteens, every action counts.
You want to be ambitious on sustainability at school – but how do you move beyond the easy things like switching off lights?  What would deliver the biggest energy and carbon savings – LED lighting? Solar panels? And how do you pay for them when there are so many competing needs in a school budget?

Find out which climate actions can deliver the most significant savings on energy bills and carbon. We’ll look at some case studies, hear how others have done it, and see what might be possible at your school.

Led by our Climate Action Advisors and with expert guests from Retrofit Action for Tomorrow, this webinar is for business managers and sustainability leads who want to get beyond switching off lights and aim high on their climate plans.
